The 3200 square foot residence is situated in the upper hills of Brentwood, California. The architecture and structural engineering are finely integrated. The steel frames are angled with the folded planes of the architecture and are expressed at the entry to the garage where the structure leaves the building shell before contacting the earth. Angled wall and roof planes are used as structural shear walls, leading to unusual and complex resolution of the geometry.
